B&M Retail are looking for a Transport Supervisor to join the Transport Team, on a permanent basis, based at our site in Avonmouth, Bristol. If you're ready to take your first step in transport management, this could be the role for you!

As a Transport Supervisor, you will oversee a small team of Transport Clerks and Drivers. This role is key to ensuring that all transport related administration and transport related duties are completed efficiently and in a timely manner. It’s a hands-on, varied role in a fast-paced department and offers lots of opportunity to expand your knowledge and potentially progress within the business! 

The shift pattern for this role is: 4 on & 4 off Day Shift working 6am-6pm

The role and responsibilities are:

• Ensure all deliveries and collections are made on time and compliant with procedures
• Daily license checks ensuring drivers adhere to road transport legislation
• Ensure all fleet resources are available and on time, with delays and incidents recorded
• To build and maintain a strong partnership with the transport functions
• Daily download of driver digi cards
  
• Ensure all aspects of administration within the department are kept up to date
• Ensure fleet is made available for service and MOT as required and kept in a clean and tidy condition

We expect the successful candidate to have:

• A good working knowledge of Transport Legislation
• Excellent communication & customer service skills
• Confidence to manage a team of drivers
• Experience working as part of a team, as well as independantly
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Previous experience within the transport industry is desirable
• Previous supervisory experience is also desirable
