B&M Retail is one of the UK's leading variety retailers, continuing to grow at pace with an ambitious expansion strategy. We are looking for a hands-on Business Architect to establish, shape and embed our end-to-end process landscape as part of our B&M Back to Basics Transformation Programme.

This is a unique opportunity to build process capability from the ground up in a business where formal processes are still evolving. You will define the standards, create the taxonomy, and map the organisation’s key processes end-to-end, leaving a lasting legacy of clarity, simplicity and operational excellence.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract based at our Support Centre in Speke.

The key responsibilities of this role are:
  • Establish and own the business process capability framework
  • Develop the process taxonomy and end-to-end (E2E) process architecture
  • Create structured process maps (L0–L4, and L5 where appropriate)
  • Define and implement a consistent process mapping standard across the business
  • Map processes capturing organisation design, systems, manual activities, controls, reporting and hand-offs
  • Identify and resolve interdependencies across business areas
  • Work closely with functional leads and technology teams to gather inputs
  • Challenge and simplify both new and emerging processes to build a more efficient operating model
  • Coach and upskill business teams to embed sustainable process ownership
  • Ensure all processes are user-centred and aligned to the future operating model

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Enjoy bringing structure to complexity and ambiguity, building clarity at all levels within the business
  • Have experience building process frameworks in environments where processes are immature or undocumented
  • Can translate information from multiple sources into clear taxonomies and process maps
  • Understand end-to-end thinking and cross-functional hand-offs
  • Have strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Are comfortable challenging ways of working to drive simplification
  • Hold a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (or have equivalent practical experience)
  • Have experience working in transformation or large change programmes
