An exciting new opportunity has become available to join the B&M team as the Health & Safety Manager at our Distribution Centre in Speke.

This role will provide clear strategic direction and continuously improve Workplace Health and Safety performance within our Distribution Centre, as well as ensuring business compliance and adherence to external regulatory requirements.

This role would suit an established Health and Safety Manager or a Health and Safety Advisor with experience in a Distribution Centre, looking for the next step in their career.

Key Activities & Responsibilities:

• Lead by example and act as a Health & Safety ambassador on site.
• Promote and embed a strong, proactive health and safety culture across all departments.
• Facilitate regular health and safety engagement meetings with operational teams.
• Support delivery of safety campaigns, toolbox talks, and internal communications to reinforce key messages.
• Support operational teams with hazard identification and risk reduction activities.
• Deliver site health and safety inductions for colleague, contractors, and visitors.
• Ensure training records are accurate, up to date, and audit-ready.
• Investigate and record all incidents, accidents, complaints, and cases of ill health.
• Identify root causes and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented in a timely manner.
• Conduct RIDDOR assessments and reporting where applicable.
• Maintain accurate records and produce incident trend analysis to support site and senior leadership reviews.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Recognized Health and Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a H&S role within a Distribution, FMCG or Supply-Chain environment
• Experience with FLT (desirable)
• Ability to effectively engage and manage different stakeholders across the wider business
• Excellent time management and the ability to achieve challenging deadlines
• A 'can-do' attitude with the ability to drive, motivate and support yourself to achieve your best performance overall and for everyone
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, adaptable environment
