We are looking for an experienced Test Lead to join our IT Core Systems & Digital team based at our Support Centre in Speke, Liverpool.

This role will be responsible for defining and leading the testing strategy across applications, integrations and business change initiatives, ensuring solutions are delivered to the highest quality standards. You'll provide leadership across the testing function, embedding quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle while driving continuous improvement, governance and best practice.

Working closely with Delivery Managers, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, suppliers and business stakeholders, you will oversee test planning, execution and quality assurance activities across a diverse portfolio of technology and business transformation projects. You'll play a key role in supporting B&M's ongoing technology transformation by ensuring robust, reliable and business-ready solutions are delivered across the organisation.

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For:

• Defining and maintaining the overall testing strategy, standards and governance framework across Technology.
• Leading test planning and delivery across projects, programmes and business change initiatives.
• Ensuring appropriate test coverage across functional, integration, regression, non-functional and end-to-end testing activities.
• Monitoring testing progress, defects, risks and quality outcomes, providing clear reporting to stakeholders.
• Establishing quality standards, acceptance criteria and testing controls to support successful delivery.
• Driving continuous improvement through analysis of quality metrics, defect trends and lessons learned.
• Leading, mentoring and developing QA Analysts and Senior QA Analysts to build testing capability.
• Building strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders and acting as a senior escalation point for quality issues.
• Managing testing activities delivered by third-party suppliers and implementation partners.
• Driving the adoption of test automation, modern testing practices and a quality-first culture across Technology.

The Skills and Experience You'll Bring:

• Extensive experience leading software testing teams or quality assurance functions.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid approaches.
• Experience developing and implementing testing strategies, governance frameworks and quality standards.
• Proven experience managing testing activities across complex business and technology programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Excellent knowledge of defect management, quality assurance and risk management practices.
• Experience using tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail or Zephyr.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing testing teams.
• Experience within Retail, Supply Chain or Enterprise Systems environments, along with exposure to test automation and cloud-based technologies, would be beneficial.
