Due to our continued expansion, we are looking for MHE Instructors to join the DC team, based at our brand new 1 million sq. ft. Distribution Centre, due to open in Bedford. As a MHE Instructor you will be responsible for delivering a high standard and consistent training for all warehouse and MHE activities across the distribution centre. You will ensure legal compliance through accurate training records.
 
To be successful, the following certifications are required:
  • R.T.I.T.B Instructor – LLOP, PPT, VNA, Counterbalance, Bendi truck, Reach truck, Scissor lift, Power logic battery cart.
  • Train the trainer certificated
  • Manual handling instructor
  • Racking Inspection certificated
  • COSHH Risk assessment
In addition, the key attributes required are:
  • Experience of working in a similar DC environment. 
  • Team player with a strong understanding of people
  • Able to develop and maintain good relationships across the business
  • Open minded and able to embrace and influence change with all colleagues, including Senior Management
  • Able to deliver results in extremely fast paced environment
  • Planning and organising skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
  • Enthusiasm, drive and a positive can-do attitude.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of related H&S regulations and requirements
  • Good computer and database skills.
 The key activities & responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Working with the site team, as the sites MHE Instructor ensuring that all training is completed and. recorded in line with company policy.  
  • Identify and assess future and current training needs for all warehouse operations (all warehouse departments and RRU)
  • Update the sites skill matrix and ensure that refresher training is completed within the specified time frames
  • Responsible for ensuring the on-going training competence of all MHE and non-MHE operational colleagues through the delivery of refresher training,
  • Assist and advise in the investigation of MHE related accidents
  • Responsible for assisting the creation of safe systems of works and suitable and sufficient risk assessments of MHE activities
  • Ensure hazards are correctly identified and control measures introduced to eliminate or reduce risk as so far as is reasonably practicable and ensuring these are trained out to all relevant colleagues
  • Work with the operational management team and planning function to ensure training is delivered in all shifts, on time and in full
  • Conduct effective induction and manual handling sessions
