B&M are looking for a Security Officer to be part of the Security Department, joining the team at our dynamic warehouse operation in Wixams, Bedford. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Security, with a good understanding of the industry. It is also essential to be flexible to work 12 hour shifts across days, nights and weekend on a 4 on - 4 off basis.

Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Knowledge of the Security Industry
• Excellent customer service skills
• The ability to work under pressure and confidence in dealing with difficult situations
• Experience in a similar role
• Capability to work on own initiative as well as being a team player
• A professional manner and appearance
• Good IT skills
• A pro-active, can do attitude

Responsibilities of the role:

• Control access and egress to the site to all staff and visitors, which includes the booking in and out of vehicles using our in-house computer software
• Conduct patrols on our sites both internally and externally, this includes using CCTV surveillance systems, in accordance with current Data Protection Laws
• Gatehouse responsibilities include (but, not limited to) inputting data, weekly reports & incident report writing, dealing with on-site issues & any additional requests made by management
• Staff & vehicle searches of all movement on & off the sites, this also includes warehouse colleague searches
• Respond, in a timely manner to all incidents requiring Security intervention, in a calm and professional manner
