We have new exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our Health & Safety team. The role will be located out of our Runcorn & Knowsley Distribution Centre.

This role would be ideal for someone who has working knowledge within Health & Safety within a distribution setting and has completed or working towards the NEBOSH General Certificate

The key responsibilities of the role are but not limited to:

  • Assist in ensuring all Health & Safety Policies and practices are proportionate, realistic, in place and working effectively
  • Prepare, document and review Risk Assessments, including tracking of the Risk Register
  • Give clear communication on Health & Safety requirements in changes of working methods or physical changes being implemented within the business, and challenge and escalate if requirements not met
  • Investigate as directed on Fire, Health & Safety Incidents and Accidents, and provide prompt and commercially astute communications to address root causes and reduce risk
  • Represent B&M when liaising and dealing with enforcing Authorities on all aspect of Fire, Health & Safety when required
  • Assist in the preparation and submitting of RIDDOR reports to the HSE, or equivalent as necessary
  • Monitor Accident trends and prepare reports accordingly as requested

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Understanding of Health & Safety Law (HASAWA 1974)
  • Warehousing, Distribution, Logistics or Retail experience
  • Good level of experience in MS Word, Office, Excel, Power Point, Email
  • A self-starter that is able to work on their own initiative and well organised.
  • A Strong communicator, written and verbal with good interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility towards their working hours
